Stray Cats, 138 North Sixth Street, was the setting for Sunday’s benefit for Samantha Dufrene, who is battling breast cancer.

The 2008 PHS graduate and mother of a two-year-old daughter (Evelyn) was the beneficiary of the successful fundraiser organized by Katie Maples.

Stray Cats owner Sean Benoit also contributed the pastalaya dinners and hosted the dinner and silent auction.

Headliners for the event were the saucy all-female Mande Milkshakers of Mandeville whose captain, Tina Rhinehart, headed a marching and performance group of the original five members and about 45 members and prospective members who danced for the Ponchatoula occasion.
