Why worry about baby teeth, the child will lose them anyway?
Have you heard this statement before?
First of all Baby or Primary teeth maintain the space need so that the permanent teeth will come in correctly, if a primary tooth is lost prematurely , the other teeth will drift into its spot and cause crowding of the permanent teeth.
Secondly, with baby teeth missing, the jaws will not space and form properly and again this greatly influences the Permanent Teeth.
Thirdly, cavities in Primary teeth are uncomfortable to a child, in the advanced stage, and affects formation of Permanent Teeth, the child's attitude, not to mention their eating habits and therefore the child's overall health.
Sure there are devices to hold the space open for Permanent Teeth, if Primary Teeth are lost, but none are as effective as what was originally placed there.
Remember: Do not wait for a tooth to hurt to see your dentist.
